Microwave Emissivity of Typical Vegetated Land Types Based on AMSR2

چکیده
To investigate the microwave radiation characteristics of different vegetation types, “pure pixels” 12 typical vegetated land types were selected and corresponding emissivity was retrieved under clear sky based on L1C AMSR2 observed brightness temperatures (TBs). According to values for spectral features in summer from 10.65 89 GHz analyzed first. Then, temporal variations at 10.65, 18.7, 36.5 H-polarized (hereinafter 10H, 18H 36H) are shown period January 2018 September 2020. Finally, responses 10H surface skin temperature (SKT), normalized differential index (NDVI), soil moisture content (SMC) quantitatively evaluated using a step-by-step analysis method. The general results as follows: (H-pol) increases with frequency biomass, while polarization differences decrease biomass. V-pol biomass those H-pol emissivity, there negative correlations unusually high low-frequency grasslands open shrublands (OS). variation amplitude seems be negatively correlated evergreen broadleaf forests show little variation. In general, seasonal changes consistent NDVI most types. Nevertheless, some cases, change is obviously ahead or behind that NDVI, revealing may sensitive elements do not sync. addition, frequencies also amplitudes turning points. Generally, response SKT weak, regardless whether positive negative. relatively large can attributed other indirect causes. plays role low-biomass drier environments medium- high-biomass SMC complex factor have effect emissivity.

Ground Truth of Passive Microwave Radiative Transfer on Vegetated Land Surfaces
In this paper, we implemented the in-situ observation of surface soil moisture (SSM), vegetation water content (VWC), and microwave brightness temperatures. By analyzing this in-situ observation dataset and the numerical simulation, we investigated the source of the uncertainty of the current algorithms for Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for Earth observation system (AMSR-E) and AMSR2 t...
متن کاملLand-surface emissivity maps based on MSG/SEVIRI information
Retrieval of land-surface temperature (LST) using data from MSG/SEVIRI requires adequate estimates of land-surface emissivity (LSE). In this context LSE maps for SEVIRI channels IR3.9, IR8.7, IR10.8, and IR12.0 were developed based on the vegetation cover method. A broadband LSE map (3-14 μm) was also developed for estimating long-wave surface fluxes that may prove to be useful in both energy b...
متن کاملDevelopment of Global Land Surface Emissivity Map at Amsr-e Passive Microwave Frequencies
Microwave emissivity over ocean is relatively well understood by scientists. However, over land because of the existence of different land covers and their various physical properties land surface emissivity retrieval does not seem to be straightforward. Land emissivity plays a key role in Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models, since it acts like a crucial boundary condition. The accuracy o...
متن کاملAssessment of the consistency among global microwave land surface emissivity products
The goal of this work is to intercompare four global land surface emissivity products over various landcover conditions to assess their consistency. The intercompared land emissivity products were generated over a 5year period (2003–2007) using observations from the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer – Earth Observing System (AMSR-E), the Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSM/I), the Tropica...
